With the publication of the official entry list for the 2025 S1GP Hungarian Grand Prix, Gergő Kardos was confirmed among the riders preparing for the first World Championship event on home soil. Racing as number 164, the Hungarian rider entered the premier S1GP class on a KTM motorcycle.
Kardos was joined by fellow Hungarian Balázs Surányi in the top category. For both riders, the event represented a rare opportunity to compete against established international opposition in front of their own supporters.
The S1GP format combines asphalt racing with off-road sections. For Kardos, whose background includes road racing, the combination promised a demanding but valuable new challenge.
The inaugural Hungarian round took place at Black Star Speedway Visonta on 12–13 July 2025. It marked an important step in Kardos’s transition from domestic competition to the international Supermoto stage.
