Two S4 races remained on Sunday at Visonta, and the first began with an unexpected setback for Gergő Kardos. A loose helmet visor prevented him from taking up his usual grid position, forcing him to start from the pit lane after the rest of the field.
From 15th position, the Hungarian rider fought his way forward over 20 laps to finish ninth. The recovery salvaged a valuable result after a difficult start.
Kardos was again ninth across the finish line in the weekend’s final S4 race, but the classification changed afterwards. Alex Rafael Gourdon was disqualified for a technical infringement, promoting Kardos to eighth.
His final results from the three S4 races at Visonta were therefore fifth, ninth and eighth. The weekend showcased both his pace on asphalt and his determination to recover when circumstances went against him.
